Change…..I have had to embrace it. It is so overt throughout loss. Some change, some do not. Some for the better and some for the worse. Tragic loss requires realism in people. It is like a reflection. It scares the crap out of most……so much so that they vanish. We are out of sight and then they are not reminded of pain, our pain. A pain most don’t want to partake in. A pain that we endure daily. The pain of grief, loss and trauma. I am used to it now. Most of my family and friends that were there before have opted out, the pain is too great for them. I have new friends and some are now my family. Most have suffered themselves and have stepped up….some strangers, some acquaintances… all demonstrating humanity at it’s finest and most pertinent time.
“Empathy is feeling with people…….Hey I am with you. It is requires you to access part of yourself. Sympathy is from a distance.” —Brene Brown
